Daddies Sing Goodnight

We recommend this one :) Did you know that Leon is featured on a release of "sleepytime songs"? Daddies Sing Goodnight a fathers' collection of sleepytime songs is a collection of Leon and other favorite performers including, Doc Watson, Jesse Winchester, The Seldom Scene, Tim & Mollie O'Brien, singing various ballads and lullabies. "Leon takes us on a dreamy trip down the Volga with a soothing rendition of the Irving Berlin lullaby" favorite called Russian Lullaby

Russian Lullaby
Where the dreamy Volga flows
There's a lonely Russian rose
Gazing tenderly, down upon her knee.
Where a baby's brown eyes glisten,
Listen.

Every night you hear her croon a Russian lullaby.
Just a little plaintive tune, when baby starts to cry.
Rock-a-bye my baby,
Somewhere there may be
A land that's free for you and me and a Russian lullaby.

You may recall that Leon performed the opening and closing theme songs, "According To Our New Arrivals" for the situation comedy, Mr. Belvedere. The title character, played by Christopher Hewett, portrayed an English housekeeper to the Owens TV-family. Mr. Belvedere first aired on March 15, 1985 on ABC, and had a 117 episode run before being canceled on July 8, 1990. "Mr. Belvedere centered around the Owens family who lived in suburban Pittsburgh. George Owens was a sports writer and his wife, Marsha was a homemaker/law-student. They had three children, 16 year old Kevin, 14 year old Heather and 8 year old Wesley" (tvtome). The series opener found Marsha, unable to manage both an education in law and the Owens' household. So British butler, Mr. Lynn Belvedere was hired and he soon became a valued member of the Owens family, logging his poignant ponderings at the close of each episode.

According To Our New Arrivals
Streaks on the china,
Never mattered before,
Who cared?

When you drop kicked the jacket,
As you came through the door,
No one glared.

But sometimes things get turned around,
And no one's spared.
All hands look out below,

There's a change in the status-quo.
Gonna need all the help that we can get.

According to our new arrival,
Life is more than mere survival.
And we just might live the good life yet.
